Here in Red Square
|
We are updating this web page from a bus on a tour round Moscow! So far we have been to the Kremlin, Maiden Convent and we are being escorted everywhere by police! Must be dodgy! The accomadation leaves something to be desired. It would be nice if the curtains shut. There was a weird women who ran down our corridor in a sheet, fell over and lost the sheet maybe she was drunk?!? Last night we went out for a 4 course meal with really nice ice creams. Breakfast was a square block of scrambled egg and mushy peas YUM!!!

The evening activities were disrupted by a student prank in which they let off some sort of unknown chemical sending everyone into coughing fits so the meeting was postponed and we just went back to our base. Thankfully we're all fine and no harm was done.
The evening was not lost - we converted the bar into a real-life rocket launch and space simulator and got squashed experiencing 3G. Don't worry - it'll all be on the DVD!!!

Russians are clearly proud of their strong heretage in manned space flight.
They are keen to point out to us the importance of involving young people from around the World in the space programme.
Here is one of their monuments to the space industry of Russia.

During our October visit to Moscow it seems like a 'gray' city with gray smoke rising from gray chimnies into a gray sky. This colour photo of the World War II memorial park illustrated the point.
The hospitality here cannot be faulted even if our efforts to 'do our own thing' drives our hosts crazy at times!
