The International Space Olympics

A group of Guides and Scouts from Kieghley, West Yorkshire, UK, have been working on a space and TV project with Keighley College.
With funding from Yorkshire Forward (our regional development agency), the college is looking to develop the future skills needs of its students. To build on this aim they are developing a state-of-the-art TV studio and editing suite alongside satellite communication and Internet facilities provided by Orbit Research Ltd. The Scouts and Guides have been using and learning about these technologies through practical, hands-on experience - and they love it!
Eight lucky Guides and Scouts were successful in applying for the chance to visit the 11th International Space Olympics. Because of our late entry to the competition, they are not taking part this year - but instead they are using their newly-acquired skills to document and film the proceedings.
They are looking forward, later in the week, to interview mission controllers, cosmonauts and officials from the Korolev education department - as well as (of course) their friends and fellow competitors from around the World.
